Welcome to the GoCouch wiki!

The wiki is a collection of articles, not necessarily in order, aiming to give some hints and directions to the advanced user or GoCouch developers. Our attempt was to provide an embryo project that will be developed by the community. We have the passion but we can not assume the full work load. We have our limitations and we hope that there are enthusiasts in the communities, both Go and CouchDB, that will take over the project.

Our initial motivation was to provide a decent piece of software that is capable to act like a JSON document storage, also storing attachments, and replicating with CouchDB database. GoCouch was intended only for mobile platforms. Go code may be compiled for both Android and iOS and run as native code - fast, smooth seamless. We also intended to wrap up the database in a Codova/PhoneGap plug-in so that programmers will be able to use it easily in their projects. Another driver was the possibility to run CouchApps directly from GoCouch, allowing application distribution and updates in a transparent way.
