Mahdi Azarboon's Publications and Contributions

Here is a list of my publications and contributions across various platforms and domains:

  • Authored 44+ architectural recommendations featured in the Azure Architecture Center and the Azure Well-Architected Framework. Developed 10+ enhancements to serverless DevOps best practices, incorporated into Azure DevOps documentation. Contributed to over 151 approved improvements across various Microsoft Azure documentation resources.
  • Contributed eight accepted pull requests to the AWS ecosystem, including official documentation and repositories such as the AWS Cloud Development Kit.
  • Integrated 6+ bug fixes and enhancements into Terraform projects.
  • Driven by my interests, I have analyzed and written commentaries on AWS Lambda and Azure Functions over the years, with my insights featured in a leading industry publication. My comparisons were highlighted in Off-by-None—one of the longest-running and most widely read AWS newsletters, curated by AWS Serverless Hero Jeremy Daly—in issues #28 and #313. Additionally, I was a featured guest on the Serverless Chats podcast (Episode #103), where I discussed key differences between the two technologies.
  • Contributed to Kubernetes documentation, the Architectural Decision Records initiative, and various other open-source projects.
  • I regularly contribute to Wikipedia on topics such as cloud computing, serverless computing, AWS Lambda, and software architecture. My focus is on improving the quality of these pages to make best practices more accessible, particularly for newcomers seeking to learn efficiently. You can find my Wikipedia contributions here.
  • Designed and developed a cross-account CI/CD-based Serverless application boilerplate. (Note: The original repository was deleted without my consent, but a snapshot is available here.)
