clarification on adding new sub decks using Hamlet template

documentation says "Then create a parent deck and three subdecks: 1. word, 2. line, 3. page. And import each .csv into the deck created for it."

Any chance you could link to relevant documentation and/or clarify this process? After importing the template and the new .csv files, I found the new words/lines/pages mixed into the existing Hamlet cards rather than stand-alone sub decks.

Please tell me which of the points is causing the problem?

1. Import Hamlet shared deck (This step is only necessary because the Deck contains the required Note Types for new decks)
2. Create new empty Deck and three subdecks. (Or just delete all the notes from Hamlet Deck and rename it)
3. Import one by one three .csv files into your new subdecks, checking that the correct Note Type and Deck are selected during import. And make sure "Mach Scope" is set to "Notetype and deck" to prevent cards in other decks from being updated.

That would be step 2. It wasn't clear to me how to create a new empty deck with subdecks that used the template. But the sentence "just delete all the notes from Hamlet Deck and rename it" gives me the marginal information I need. Thank you!

In Anki, Note Type is not tied to Deck. It is tied to each Note. So, it is important to select the right Note Type when importing.
