ESPHome is commonly used together with Home Assistant and it would be nice to have an app for it.

I have this set up as a custom app, its pretty easy:

image: esphome/esphome
environment:
- ESPHOME_WEB_PORT=1234
volumes:
- /mnt/<pool>/<dataset path>:/config

Yep, me too but would be nice to have it built in.

Btw, did you manage to get mDNS working? I had to switch to ip addresses to get online status etc.
