Effortless Libraries and Language Improvements for C++
Hey! Thanks so much for stopping by my sponsor page. As a student, my work is dedicated to making the world of C and C++ better. I have gone to the C and C++ Standards Committee and pushed proposals, and do quite a bit of work:
- Project Editor for ISO/IEC JTC1 SC22 WG14 - Programming Languages: C
- C++ Text Encoding and Unicode Support with SG16 to make encoding accessible for the common developer and system's programmer by the end of 2020;
- itsy.bitsy, a library to manipulate bits easier and have fast standard algorithm performance with bit iterators that is targeting C++23;
- std::out_ptr, with an implementation that allows for C++ smart pointers to play nice with their C counterparts;
- std::embed;
- and, even more!
Sponsoring work here means you can help support these efforts, and if you give enough even suggest on which things to work on next. Hope to see you out there! β₯
Who?
My name is JeanHeyd, but I go by ThePhD online. I'm a software developer and trainer. I've got quite a bit of experience developing software and now I'm taking my skills to various places that need help like libstdc++. I've also identified a lot of pain points in the current C and C++ standards that could use some serious fixes like Unicode and practical constexpr data handling.
Why?
I enjoy this a lot. Creating not only wonderful APIs that are easy to use while retaining maximum performance is a hobby of mine. I have begun to talk about my work at various conferences and podcasts, and plan to share even more with the world!
If you would like to see the C++ standard, C++ libraries, and more move forward and if you would like to help shape it by contributing to me and putting interesting problems in my sights, please don't hesitate to sponsor! Every bit of support helps.
π
Reaching this number of sponsors is so that I know at least 100 of you want to read the e-mail updates I send out! Of course, at $10+ you also get access to the super secret repository of my secret musings and projects, but just $1 keeps me from going broke and lets me keep delivering hot, spicy C++ improvements!
