Hello there! π
I am somewhat of an unusual developer, I like to produce things that disrupt major and often sticky ideas. Especially when no one seems to believe something is achievable.
My name is Ahmed,
I am a French developer, so everything there is made in France π«π·.
You'll find that I am resilient, and most certainly animated with an inextinguishable will to improve the OSS ecosystem.
β My featured project
Mainly, you'll help fund the following active projects:
-
Niquests, a drop-in replacement for Requests that is no longer under feature freeze. On the menu, HTTP/3, HTTP/2, Multiplexed Connections, System CAs, Certificate Revocation, Timeout by default, Async, and (much) pain removed!
-
Charset-Normalizer, A truly universal encoding detector in pure Python, it is the only worthy replacement for the Mozilla Chardet Detector algorithm.
-
qh3, A lightway implementation of QUIC, and HTTP/3 which is implemented in urllib3.future which is used by Niquests.
-
Wassima, Only the most convenient way to retrieve your OS root CAs in Python. This solution is used directly by Niquests.
-
urllib3.future, It is the main engine behind Niquests. I like presenting it as follows: " urllib3.future is as BoringSSL is to OpenSSL but to urllib3 except support is available! "
The projects listed here are not exhaustive. You find the complete list here or even here.
π Why you should sponsor
If you or your company benefit from the work in there, you should consider sponsoring. π
- π What defines benefiting from this?
Anything from " this made our day more productive, fixed long-standing issue(s), got awesome support, split in half the workload, or doubled our capacity for the same amount of money " is a good incentive to support our work financially.
- π¦ Do we gain anything?
Yes! There are several perks you may earn according to your level of engagement with me. Look π
In addition to a specific perk per level, everyone gets a guarantee for a response as soon as possible. No one is excluded.
- π¨ How to ensure sustainability?
I am very much aware that with growth, comes a certain number of challenges! And for that:
We will regularly pay others for specific tasks if the collected funds are significant via issues marked with a bounty and invite external consultants (security, audit, etc...) to challenge the solutions.
Finally, we will arrange a meeting once or twice per year with the top contributors to speak roadmap, accountability, deliverability, and concerns of you and the community.
