In the Naxi Dictionary there is a problem editing text in Entries Explained. This is a test page with the same text.
https://www.webonary.org/naxi/test-page/

When the page is previewed or updated. the following error occurs:
Bad Request
Your browser sent a request that this server could not understand.

This error occurs for both the English and Chinese text.

If the Chinese text is removed from

hualmei

to the end of the file the error doesn't always occur. I thought it didn't occur but in my last test it did unless I switched language tabs, from Chinese to English and back to Chinese, before previewing.

If the English or Chinese text is removed leaving the other no error occurs.

Can you take a look and see if you can fix the problem.

@peteroatley, this is happening because the data is too large. The server is set to reject requests larger than 128KB. This request is 153KB.

This has nothing to do with Webonary or WordPress code. The sysops people have the servers configured with some security protocols, and this is one of them. The request is rejected before it gets to WordPress. Greg Mackay may be willing to modify the security settings, or he may have an idea of another way to do it.
