This isn’t really what the issue tracker is for, you should be using the discussion forums, or irc/discord/matrix. But... 1- connections are established first by contacting known peers that are hard coded in to your application, those servers let your app know who else is online that they can connect to, then the node in your app organises itself in to an appropriate part of the DHT network and maintains connections with other peers who are responsible for keeping track of information that has similar hashes to the information your node is responsible for. If your app is behind a NAT, it will do it’s best to punch a hole in the NAT, and if that doesn’t work, as a last resort, some nodes volunteer to be “relays” (it’s a feature that’s off by default), who will forward messages between nodes that cannot open themselves up to the internet properly. |
