The Agent team is working on adding Ubuntu 2024.4 support. I believe it will be in the release-after-next, in 8-10 weeks. We're still waiting on agent support before we can add Puppetserver support. So, assuming the agent team gets it done internally in time we should support Ubuntu 2024 in the same 8-10 timeframe.

PE should support it in the release after Ubuntu 2024.4.1 ships. That Ubuntu patch release is slated for August and PE will ship sometime in the autumn.

This agent build was our blocker. We will try to get server support in the next release. And support in PE in the release that comes after August when Ubuntu 24.0.4.1 is due.

Any update on when we could expect packages in the 2404/noble repo for puppetserver?

jammy packages are not installable OTB on noble, so this is a bit of a blocker for upgrading for us.

Ok, Debian 12 (Bookworm) was released in June 2023 and was supported in October 2024. So 15 months later.
So Ubuntu 24.04 will probably be supported in July 2025.
Especially the agent works on 24.04. Even the Jammy Install files work, but I haven't tried it with clients yet.
