Describe the bug
When switching from Moonlight (full screen) to another window on Mac using Cmd + Tab, sometimes my whole computer crashes and reboots.

When the reboot is finish, the OS indicates that there was a system extension error. Log attached.

This seems to happen only in the scenario that I've already had a moonlight session previously. When the computer reboots and I start moonlight again, everything is fine.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Launch moonlight and connect to slave computer
  2. Close moonlight
  3. Open moonlight and connect to slave computer
  4. Cmd + Tab to switch to different mac window

Affected games
This happens even before any games are launched. My slave computer is Windows 11 FWIW.

It looks like a kernel extension bug with one of Apple's built-in drivers. I don't think there's anything we can do from our side to fix it.

for what it's worth I'm in an extremely similar circumstance

Client PC details (please complete the following information)

  • OS: Mac Sequoia 15.1
  • Moonlight Version: 6.1.0
  • GPU: Apple M2 Max (Integrated GPU)

Server PC details (please complete the following information)

  • OS: Windows 11 Enterprise
  • GPU: AMD 6900 XT

except my issues is when I use an external monitor connected either via HDMI or USB-C it hard crashes my MacBook and reboots the second I connect to the server, the server side is completely fine, no issues, but the MacBook (client) crashes and reboots.

this issue does not happen when I have the moonlight app running on just my MacBook with no external monitors, i can tab between windows just fine as well.
