Goal

My goal is to add a "Subscribe" button on the front page linking to my email provider of choice.

What I've looked into

  1. Override index.html - I want to customize it rather than override it
  2. Add customCSS - I'll need once I figure out (1).

Question

I realize this isn't hard, but I also wanted to ask if there are docs/instructions/examples of how others have done this in the past before I jump into the 🐰🕳️?

Opening up an issue because I couldn't find it myself.

Hey!
We don't have a guide. :/
But I can point my own site as an example. I use a custom SCSS file and also override one layout file.

@luizdepra I looked on your website, but can't tell where the "Subscribe" button you're referring to it?

Ohh. What I was trying to say is that I customize a bit my own site, but I don't have a subs button. Sorry for not being clear.
I have a custom (S)CSS file too, so you could see how I use that.

But, you are right in your assumptions. You'll need to override the index.html template to add the button, and probably style it too.
