When trying to create a VM with a static IP using the ip= kernel arg it was complaining that its not recognised.

This could be the issue:

CONFIG_IP_PNP=n
CONFIG_IP_PNP_DHCP=n
CONFIG_IP_PNP_BOOTP=n
CONFIG_IP_PNP_RARP=n
