We currently have an "edit" button on dashboard cells when arranging the dashboard layout. This button transitions back to notebook view with the specific cell highlighted. We do not have the inverse, for example a button on a notebook cell that switches to dashboard authoring view with that cell highlighted. This button could only appear if a dashboard layout has already been created.
While working on a report-style dashboard I found myself adding new cells here and there, only to switch to dashboard authoring, scroll to the bottom, and hunt for them in dashboard authoring view to put them into place or hide them.
The "show code on hover" feature can help somewhat for code cells while you are hunting, but you still have to remember what the code looked like and identify it yourself. I also turn off the hover code occasionally since I find it distracting at times. We don't have anything to jump directly to the cell with an indication that is it the same cell (like the highlight that appears when clicking the edit button in a dashboard authoring cell).
I know the cells are always added to the bottom, but I find myself repeating the scrolling action over and over again (along with the hunting), so there may be merit in improving this workflow.
