Exactly what is on the title and mostly because of the existing retexture project for the original rom.

it would be nice to see PD with the equivalent of a 1999/2000 PC release made by the community

Why md5mesh specifically?

See #236 regarding XBLA content specifically.

because of the existing retexture project for the original rom.

Which retexture project are you referring to?

Why md5mesh specifically?

I think OP likely wants this format because it's the one used by Nightdive's Quake 1 and 2 remasters, but I don't think it's the ideal format nowadays.

glTF support would make much more sense as it's ubiquitously supported in 3D apps, although it's a significantly more complex format. Something in-between would be IQM, which is more modern than MD5 (a format that celebrated its 20th birthday recently). That said, just like for MD5, tooling support for IQM isn't great compared to glTF.

There is a HD project
https://www.emutalk.net/threads/perfect-dark-texture-pack-wip-perfect-dark-forever.57318/

and the texture quality is quite close to a 2000's game release on PC in quality

as for md5mesh, i said as a suggestion, though any model format that is easy to work with the game would be nice for modding.

I've been looking high and low for a HD texture pack for the PC port...
Do none currently exist at this time?

There is no HD texture/model support yet.
