@rrolf commented here. As this was not changed in the redesign, I will treat it as new feature request to keep the discussion in the main thread as focused as possible.

It would be good to be able to type in the time for the start and stop time, to jump back or forward a few seconds, or if you wrote down the times you can quickly skip. As a nice to have, it would also be good is you are in the minute field i.e. you can press the up or down button to increase or decrease the current input field.

I'm a bit skeptical as this would make the UI more complex and because I don't quite see the real world use case yet.

jump back or forward a few seconds

That's already possible via shortcuts.

if you wrote down the times you can quickly skip

How could you have written down the time? The user just recorded the video, I don't see how. Sure, the user might have screwed up and restarted, and manually wrote down the approximate time then. But that's still at best +-1 seconds accurate, so one would still have to fine tune after entering this approximate time.

So yeah, I'm not yet convinced. Can you maybe provide a specific user story where someone would benefit from this input fields and where they couldn't achieve the same thing in the same time by using the available controls (scrubber, shortcuts, ...)?
