Fails to build and deploy after creating a new fork

Hi Everyone!
One of my friend @Kai-E-Yang is trying to use the al-folio repo for his personal webpage on gh-pages. But even after following the instructions, he initial commit to modify the url and base_url in _config.yml , the pages build and deployment action fails to create files. Can anyone help figuring out the issue?

Did he followed all the steps in the video tutorial? Including changing how the GitHub pages deploy and waiting for the necessary amount of time?

It does exist, however they are not "in the same place". Some steps are on the sidebar, the last one is a header on the site. I will add a link to an explanation from GitHub itself as an alternative, but by reading the steps and analyzing the page you might be able to find the correct place. Not sure if it is easy to find this on your phone though.

Builds also fail with error mentioning some missing semicolon in a css file, when I just try to use remote theme: in my _config.yml file.

I watched the video now, the section has a different name and the permission option is greyed out, I cannot select it. 🤷‍♂️

Yeah, that was the greyed-out option, but I figured it out now - I had to change it in the organization settings too. I will try using the template again later, now I'm tired of re-deleting the same repo over and over 😅

I meant I tried to follow the typical Github Pages instructions by including remote_theme: alshedivat/al-folio in the repo's _config.yml file, but the build was failing with the css error. I thought maybe the template has a bug or something, or more likely it's too complex for such a simple solution (I use this with my personal site and minima theme, but I wanna try al-folio for our team site).

I don't use al-folio in an organization, so there was no way to know about this lol.

Actually everything you need to make it work is already there. We don't use this remote_theme setting (I don't even know about it, maybe it's a minima theme thing?), you only need minimal changes to the template repo to make it work and deploy the demo website. All changes needed is already explained in our INSTALL.md.
