can't unlock screensaver on OS X 10.12 #3

I don't know if this is an issue with the older looking screensaver UI or with the plugin, but I have tested a different machines and once they go to sleep, you cannot unlock the screensaver. I type in a password and the screen goes black. Move the mouse and it is back to the unlock screen. I've only seen this occur on 10.12. Is there a way I can compile this without the screensaver change? I'm ok with it not being able to capture passwords that may change while logged in.
