I'm not sure how to proceed here. The NGI0 program is as official as it gets, is actively worked on, and will be continued until at least 2026. This site is served on summer.nixos.org, we just failed to maintain it this year. But generally having the visibility, possibly also through the GitHub org, would be good. There's also https://github.com/ngi-nix/summer-of-nix and NGI0 collaborators have full control over the @mightyiam @MMesch what do you think? Should we move everything into the other org and ask infra to reroute the domain, or revive this as an entry point? I lean towards the first option, as it makes managing permissions slightly easier. |
I suggest resolving #46 and then making this subdomain a permanent redirect to https://github.com/ngi-nix/summer-of-nix. |
@mightyiam agreed. It will take a while until I can get to helping with that, but it's on my list. @thufschmitt I'd ping you once everything is done. May take on the order of 2 months though, given the length of my queue. |
Only took a year... Welcome to open source, I guess. But once NixOS/nixos-homepage#1559 is merged, all that's remaining is setting up redirects: ngi-nix/ngipkgs#476 Then this repository can be archived with an appropriate note on where to find up to date information. |
Hi @fricklerhandwerk , Hope you are doing good. I am writing to express my keen interest in participating in Nix Summer of Code 2025. As an enthusiastic open-source contributor with a strong technical background, it would be great if I can have the opportunity to contribute to the Nix ecosystem and collaborate with like-minded developers. In this context, I would like to know how may a little bit on the application process. About my background I am Software engineer with 2+ YoE and have some beginner-friendly open-source contributions... Please do let me now, if I can have to opportunity to participate in Nix SOC 2025. Looking forward to hear back from you... Thank you! |
Both these issues are merged and the website has been updated. |
@NixOS/org please archive this repository, which would close this issue. |
Hi,
As part of NixOS/teams-collaboration#1, I am trying to clarify the status of the repositories under the NixOS organisation.
This repository seems to be unmaintained or obsolete, so it will be archived in a month.
If you think it warrants staying here or should be moved to another organization instead, please answer this issue.
