I feel like this is a cause for concern when I'm using the tslint package. Not sure what is causing the worker to use so much cpu. Let me know what information to provide.

I grew tired of my laptop sounding like a jet engine and migrated to ESLint as is now recommended. If anyone comes across this issue in the future I suggest you follow that path!
If migrating to ESLint is not possible. Try changing the config in the main Linter package by Steelbrain so that it only lints a file on save. That should help!
